Fixie (fixed gear, pignon fixe), Amsterdam, Weteringschans, 11-2011: Een fiets die een glimlach op mijn gezicht tovert. Ondanks de kekke kleuren, het hippe zadel en de ontbrekende remmen (de terugtraprem is onklaar gemaakt, als ik het goed zie), blijf je de oerdegelijke Hollandse fiets erin terugzien. Een sympatieke poging er iets leuks van te maken. This bicycle makes me smile. Despite its fresh colors, its trendy saddle and the lack of brakes (the coaster brake has been removed, as far I can see), the good old Dutch bike still comes through. An honest attempt to spice up the traditional gents roadster. Voilà un vélo qui m’a bien fait sourire. Le vieux vélo hollandais continue à transparaître de tous les côtés, malgré les couleurs tendance, la selle à la mode, l’absence de freins (le frein à rétropédalage a été enlevé, si j’ai bien vu). Une tentative sympathique de redéfinir le bon vieux vélo hollandais.
